The 24 hour spin was bigger than ever!! The Gears Team rented the Hersey Centre to hold 195 spin bikes for 1800 participants on teams ranging from 14 soloists who did rode their spin bikes for 24 hours straight to teams of 2 to 24 people. An incredible event for an incredible cause.

To entertain the participants the Gear's Team lined up some great entertainment. Unlike many other events the cost of the event itself was paid for through the bike registration and through people who volunteered their time. This allowed us to give 100% of all donations to the cancer charities.

Our friend Fredrik Carlberg, Jamie Layfield & Hamish Gordon who like us road solo. Here they are early in the 24 hour event; ok let's just say I have pictures of them at the end where, well, they don't look quite as good!!

Diane Rushton, one of the 24 hour spinners, looking a little tired around hour 19!!

Like the Coast-to-Coast ride daily dedications we dedicated each hours to those impacted by Cancer. Here is a picture of our friend Jamie Layfield with his relative Janet Steffan, her children and her mother-in-law Vivian. Over a three year period Janet lost her husband, her father, and her father-in-law to cancer. We were honoured and humbled to be riding for such a great family who have overcome so much. We MUST find a cure for this awesome disease.

Kevin and the Gears crew pulled out all the stops to entertain the participants. Here he is dressed up and spinning with some professional disco dancers in the background. Imagine wearing that outfit while spinning under hot studio lights.

Kevin and I told our Coast to Coast story during an hour of the spin. There is a 60 minute video highlighting our trip.

During the last hour I got to ride with the Gear's instructors and close out an absolutely world-class event put on by Kevin, his business partner Ira, and the entire Gear's team. Between our Coast to Coast Ride Against Cancer and the Gear's 24 hour spin, we have raised over $500,000 directly for the charities we are supporting. Hopefully this will help make a difference in the fight against cancer.

Closing out the Gear's 24 hour spin with the great instructor crew from Gear's. Ira, Kevin's business partner, is on the far left.
