Share with us, and everyone visiting this site, your words of support. Email your comments to ak@boomart.net Feb 7 -- Kevin and Jeff, At the risk of sounding repetitive, CONGRATULATIONS! Your ride was a true testament of human spirit, willpower and devotion. Not many people in this world can really claim to have "made a difference", but you have done just that. Cheers, Scott Fraser Feb 7 -- Jeff I finally got onto the web site and it really is fabulous. Reading some of those dedications really made me cry. Having been through the whole process with my 13 year old cousin and Alvaro's mom I know all the emotions and fears the family members go through when a loved one is diagnosed and being treated. I just want to say that I'm so proud of your and Kevin's efforts. It was a spectacular physical feat and a wonderful way to raise money and awareness for this very worthy cause. Love, Sue and Alvaro and the kids Feb 7 -- To the entire team: Congratulations! This was a truly incredible accomplishment and you should feel wonderful about what you have done. I checked your progress every night, and when you finished, it brought tears to my eyes! Great Job. Scott Southron Feb 7 -- Absolutely amazing Jeff. It's been an inspiration to watch your progress throughout your ride. Look forward to getting together some time over the next few months to hear all about it! Take care! Nadine Schiratti Feb 7 -- Hey Jeff, You, Kevin, your support team and families are an extraordinary group of people. I check the web site regularly and was in awe of what you achieved. Give our love to Diane and the kids....Alice, Mike, Connor and Devon Feb 6 -- Hi Guys, Just wanted to congratulate you one more time on a job very well done! It was great to be able to follow your daily progress on your ride (thanks Freddie et al), and it was a pleasant surprise to see that the website is still here so people can continue to send messages to you. Your efforts and contributions have made a huge impact on alot of people and we hope that the 24 hour spin will be just as successful. Thanks, Sue and Pete C. Feb 4 -- Hey - I followed your ride everyday - I am so proud of you. So are you eating fried chicken everyday trying to gain back some weight? Kidding. The Lance Armstrong Foundation exists to enhance the quality of life of those living with, through, and beyond cancer. I hope today was a day of rest, relaxation and fun for you. You accomplished your goals and dreams. So many of us are so proud of you - for who you are and what you've done for others! Your coast to coast ride will continue to be an inspiration for a long time. I know I will look at and re-read the pages from the website again and again. Some time ago a friend sent me this poem and I leave it with you for a final bit of inspiration: "People come into our lives for a reason, a season, or a lifetime. When someone comes into our lives for a REASON, it usually means that person meets a need we have in our lives. They may seem like a godsend, and they are. .... When people come into our lives for a SEASON, it is because our turn has come to share, grow, or learn. They may bring us an experience of peace, hope, love, or laughter. They may teach us something. They usually give us an unbelievable amount of joy. Believe it! They are real! ... LIFETIME relationships teach us lifetime lessons; those things we must build upon in order to have a solid foundation in life. Jeff, Kevin, and Support Team through the Coast to Coast Ride you came into the lives of many people for a reason and a season to leave us with a lifetime of memories, inspiration, and learning that can help each of us reach out to others, as you have reached out to so many. God bless you. May you each treasure always what you have learned through the experiences of your coast to coast ride - a dream come true. God Bless you as you have blest so many of us. Aunt Marilyn Jan 29 -- Jeff, Congratulations!! What an inspirational journey! We are all very proud of your dedication to this cause. We so wish that we could be there as you finish but as that is not a reality we will continue to be with you in spirit and get all our updates from this great website. Jan 28 -- Kevin, Jeff and the entire C2C team, You have proven that even the most difficult and unimaginable goals can indeed be met and have inspired so many in so many ways!!! Hope, determination and a hugely increased will to make a difference are the net results that many of us have derived from your saddle sores. Celebrate and enjoy the good you have accomplished and the continuing fight you have inspired. I look forward to hearing the stories and to continuing the fight at the 24 spin. And to Skylar, look's pretty good for the jersey!! Dan Ferko Jan 28 -- To Kevin and Jeff. I send you both my heartiest congratulations on completion of your trans-continent bicycle ride. Wow! What a challenge and what an achievement!! Coast 2 Coast in 24 days is simply amazing and the only engine has been your human bodies driven by your amazing minds. All for raising funds for a cancer cure. I am so proud of both of you. I am grateful for the inspiration which your personal dedication and commitment means to all of us who have been touched by cancer. When our two year old daughter, Jane Edith Marland, died of leukemia our world was totally shattered. We learned firsthand of the absolute heartbreak and unbelievable grief that the death o a child brings. Fundraising to help find the cure is the most important thing we can do and you have done that for over 3,000 miles with each turn of your wheels. Kevin, today as you dedicate this C.2.C. ride to your mother, Elizabeth Wallace's memory I know in my heart that she has traveled every mile with you along the 3,000 miles. She is as proud and blessed by having a son like you as any mother here on earth. You represent everything that is good, selfless and caring for others by this feat of strength and endurance. Your mother must have had much joy and happiness in her life from her well-deserved pride in you and all your accomplishments. See you in Mississauga to celebrate. ÊSee you in T.O.!Ê Anne & Nanette Jan 27 -- Jeff and Kevin, I want to say thank you for dedicating today's ride to me. Also for allowing so many people to be part of your journey through the website. I always have a Kleenex close at hand when I log on as there are always tears as I read how you are touching so many people of all ages. Great that you got to ride with Lance Armstrong. Good things happen to good people. This past week has brought once again made me realize how devastating this disease is. Last Wednesday a former co-worker, Mary Horner, underwent surgery at Toronto General for ovarian cancer. She was in the same wing of the hospital that I was almost 25 years ago when I had my surgery. Last night I learned that Mary had died earlier in the day.. On Friday morning I received a call that Diane Beatty. a member of our After 5 Christian Women's Group, had died of cancer which she had been fighting for seven years. I have just returned from the service to celebrate her life. Diane is the third member of our group to die of cancer within the last six months - Vicky Restoule and Monica Aitchison died in the summer and fall of 2000. All of these women were much to young to be taken from their loved ones. Your ride is almost over and tomorrow will be the day when family and friends will meet you on the beach at St. Augustine. We all wish we could be there in person but our spirits continue to be with you. Nephew dear I am so very, very proud of you and thank you again for letting me be a part of your dream. Love Aunt Carolyn Jan 27 -- Hi Jeff, Just want to say 'Thanks' for dedicating the ride today to my Mom, our great-grandmothers Rushton and Millen and great-uncle Keith. You and your team are certainly an inspiration to young and old alike across the country as evidence by the comments each day. The daily updates makes it seem like we are there riding with you. I am so proud of what you have accomplished with your Coast to Coast Ride Against Cancer. Safe journey tomorrow and party on with your family and friends in St. Augustine. Love, Michelline Jan 27 -- Nachtrag von GŸnter, denn ich bin mir nicht mehr sicher, ob ich gesagt habe macht weiter oder hšrt auf. NatŸrlich meine ich "Zieht durch! Go on!" Jeder kann es schaffen - people like me and you - like Jeff and Kevin........! Jan 27 -- Jeff and Kevin We have been following your journey faithfully and are so very proud and thankful that you have met with such great success. We sent out an e.mail to almost everyone we knew, telling them about your ride. We noticed that the fundraising numbers increased considerably during the days around Michael's dedication day and I am sure that our family and friends were contributors to this rise. We have the most incredible support network, and you have added to that in a very special way. God bless you both. Sharon, Bob, Michael and Christopher Neibert Jan 27 -- Guys, One more day to go!!!!! What can I say....All I am thinking right now is how humbling your entire journey has been. We should all learn from you and take a step back and think about how we can all help and inspire just that one person. You are all truly special individuals and you should be so proud of yourselves. We all miss you and look forward to seeing you real soon.... S. P. x0 Jan 27 -- Hallo Kevin and Jeff, this are the best wishes from GŸnter and Hannchen from Aschendorf (Germany). You guys are an inspiration to us all. Rick Galezowski & Maggie Bennedsen Jan 27 -- Congratulations Boys!! ItÕs down to the last couple of days, you guys are ANIMALS! Jeff riding 121 miles with food poisoning, and Kevin ÒlegsÓ Wallace pushing the envelope and setting the pace. I guess IÕll need a motorcycle just to keep up with you boys on the Saturday rides. You guys are such an inspiration. Everyone is watching and supporting you. Good luck on your last couple of days, and we canÕt wait to treat you all to a heroÕs welcome on your return. All the best! Mitch Kennedy Jan 26 -- Hi Jeff: You are all on the home stretch - Congratulations!!! It was sure good to see your smiling face on the update pictures for the 26th - after your battle with food poisoning. I wanted to let you know that you were a terrific inspiration for me as I preached in a Brantford church this morning. I introduced my theme of "Standing at the Crossroads - Walk in the Light," by talking about your ride and some of the crossroads you have faced in the last 3 weeks. It proved to be an appropriate intro to my message as a family in that church had just found out this week that a member of their family in Maryland has cancer. The church helped the Brantford family members make the trip to Maryland to be with family there. Thank you for being my inspiration in such a powerful way today. Mom and Aunt Brenda were there - it was good I didn't look at them - because they were wiping away the tears as I spoke!!! We are all so proud of you, Kevin, Kenn, and all the team members fo! r all you've accomplished because of who you are! Tomorrow there are so many of us who would like to be there to cheer you on and welcome you at the end of the journey. Because we can't, I can only pray that the wind will be at your back and when you feel it you will think of us encouraging you and the team until the last pedal has been spun. God Bless from all of us - Aunt Marilyn Jan 26 -- What a team! Everyday, as I did my thing here at home in Mississauga, I thought of you all!! What an inspiration/perspiration to the whole "just do it" theme and what a supportive family to let you go to it! When we did our "hills" in spinning class, and I could barely keep at it for 6 minutes, our teacher Neal reminded us of your hills, climbing for 6 hours -- WOW! There had better be some nicely chilled champagne waiting for you in St. Augustine's. Carry on with continued success! Jolene Jan 26 -- Hi Jeff and Kevin, Almost done!! Offf - your butts must be SO SORE!!! Glad you have some help pulling you. Too bad they can't sit on your saddles for you and push those pedals. Terry suggested I share with you my struggle with depression after I finished Camp Radiation five years ago. It also happens after big events - like the Olympics. Just something to be aware of when you finish. But I hope you just stay VERY HAPPY to be done. Hope you get healthy quickly, Jeff!! Keep on cranking. You guys are a terrific inspiration - you don't give up even when it would be so easy (and reasonable) to do so!! Cheers, Patty and Terry Jan 26 -- Three days to go, I was worried when I saw the words food poisoning!! I shake my head at the two of you and the entire crew in utter disbelief, the human spirit is truly strong! I am cheering all the accomplishments as are all the roadies. Now Jeff and Kevin put Ian on the front and tell him to ramp it up, don't let him sit on. Ian, show them that all that spinning counts for something. Michael Moore - Gears Road Team Jan 26 -- Fred & Jamie: You guys are two hot rocking hunks of burnin' love. Tell them to take more pictures of you. F & J Jan 26 -- Hi Ian, Bet you are wishing for a Swiss Chalet meal right about now!! Enjoy the sun and seafood of the Gulf Coast!! Here is our message to you..... Have fun! Dig deep! Stretch and Dream Big! Know though, that things worth doing seldom come easy. There will be good days and there will be bad days...There will be times when you want to turn around, pack it up, and call it quits...(thinking about your marathon experience..) Those times tell you that you are pushing yourself, that you are not afraid to learn by trying. So very proud to know you all who are doing something so wonderful and self sacrificing....yet kinda crazy too!! Ride hard...best wishes! The Chicken Crew. Jan 26 -- Kevin and Jeff - In Friday's spin class, Neil gave us a good idea of how fast and hard you have been cycling. Tired after one hour, I've been wondering how you two go on to do another (no doubt tougher) hour after that; then another ... and another. Then another day .... and another. I was reading this morning and came across this quote. I can only assume it has something to do with it so I thought I'd send it to you."When you are inspired by some great purpose, some extraordinary project, all of your thoughts break their bonds: your mind transcends limitations, your consciousness expands in every direction and you find yourself in a new, great and wonderful world. Dormant forces, faculties and talents become alive and you discover yourself to be a greater person than you ever dreamed yourself to be." Indian Philosopher, Patanjali Great ride!! We're all looking forward to seeing you again and hearing all about it. Wishing you a quick and safe return, Wendy Bowe and family. Unbelievable accomplishment guys!! Wish I could have ridden along with you guys!! See you at the GEARS weekend Kev!! Mike Dennis-Gears Team Member Jan 26 -- Well! Things must be on a real high now with the end in sight and the family joining you to lighten the miles. All our love to you all. I hope the trip for Emmi, Lou, Diane and all the crew was safe and quick. The following days will fly by with all that love surrounding you. You are truly an amazing duo with an incredible support team which includes all those folk who have been keeping tabs on you via the website. There was a quick scan on the two of you on Global the other night. Some of us will be able to say, 'we knew him when.....' before all the fame (which you richly deserve by the way). Thinking of you all. Love from Woodstock. Jim and Jan Jan 26 -- Hello Kevin & Jeff: Just wanted to log on again to say what a terrific effort this has been. I am a cancer survivor. I am now cancer free ( 18 years). By logging on to this website and reading the daily dedications and comments, once again my life has been incredibly impacted. You have helped shift my focus and perspective. I congratulate you on your amazing journey to bring this horrible disease to a close. "There is no better exercise for the heart than reaching down and lifting someone up." You have lifted us all up with your determination, spirit, dedication and the pure magic of who you are. Thank you, thank you, thank you, Best wishes on the home stretch, Patti Stapleton Jan 25 -- Jeff & Kevin - I'd just like to say that for the many, many people (myself included) who have been reading your daily updates every single day of your trip there will be a void once your trip is completed in a few more days. I never imagined that I'd feel so much a part of your adventure - even though it's been from my computer at home - and I'd like to say "Thank You" again for doing such a great thing. If we do one little thing to help another person we have made a huge difference and you two have made a tremendous difference in the lives of many people. Be proud of yourselves and the wonderful example you've set for your kids, your families, your friends, and the many "strangers" you've touched along the way. Best wishes and continued prayers to you and your entire crew for a strong and healthy finish. - Gail Van Berkel Jan 25 -- Hi, Kevin and Jeff, I am the neighbor of Auntie Marg. Agnes Lendvay Jan 25 -- Hi Jeff, You are absolutely amazing! I think it is totally awesome what you and Kevin (as well as the support staff and your family) are doing. The personal sacrifices you all have made in order to help find a cure for cancer are a truly an inspiration. I lost my Grandmother to breast cancer a number of years ago and while nothing can ease the pain of such a loss what you are doing sure does show the indomitable spirit of goodness in man! Keep on ridin' Sincerely, Brian Hunter Jan 25 -- Hi Jeff, I am in awe of your never ending energy. I have lost both parents and my beloved sister to Cancer, as well as both my husbands parents. It is an awful disease, and I salute you and Kevin in your quest. It's been awhile since I've seen you although I've seen Diane and the kids. Keep up the good work for a great cause. Jennifer Jan 25 -- Hi Jeff, I'm really impressed with your latest venture in life! I've been checking in on your website regularly - GREAT photos & slightly "edited" radio news clips... All the best to you and the team in completing such a worthwhile challenge. I look forward to catching up with you soon. Brian Campagnola Jan 25 -- Kevin & Jeff Hi guys, I've been tracking your progress on a regular basis and I am moved by this event. The site looks great and very informative. The crew here at Signplace want to pick up some of those cool Coast to Coast shirts to support the cause. Personally, I would like to make a donation on behalf of the Robinson Family to help find a cure. I think most of us have a family member or know someone stricken by some form of cancer. We should all do our part, no matter how big or small to assist. Keep up the good work and best wishes to you both and your support team. Allen Robinson Jan 25 -- Hi Kevin & Jeff, You guys are truly demonstrating an outstanding effort!!! Kevin, I remember you and I on cold rainy days in November climbing Kelso hill 10 times under an hour thinking we were hammering big time. Checking your daily update (distance, altitude and calories) each day makes me realize how mentally focused a person can be. You have raised the bar in many ways. Good luck on your remaining days and keep on smiling. I am proud to know you as a friend. Mark Tonna Jan 25 -- Kevin and Team Your results are remarkable and your FOCUS on the goal is incredible. In optics, FOCUS is about guiding and concentrating light to create a certain image. In , a parallel way, your FOCUS on 24 in 24 to fight cancer has created strength, hope and energy for everyone you have touched. Thank you and good luck in your final days."May the FOCUS be with you". Tom Blake Jan 25 -- Hi Jeff & Kevin!! I've been tracking you.
