Day 1, January 5, 2002

update
WE PULLED IT OFF! January 4th as the
one day to get organized [buy supplies, pick up the RV, get food, unpack,
build the bikes, pick up our friend Hamish Gordon who is riding with us
for 3 days, and try to get some sleep] was a wild day! Jeff's and my support
team did an unbelievable job!! WHAT A TEAM
Had the flu bug from the last couple of days, but Jeff and Hamish let me ride their wheels and pull me for the last 120 kms/80 miles. I hope I can pay those guys back tomorrow on Jan 6th when we have another big day. I worked through the flu because I was thinking all day and inspired by James Richard's the little 6 year old we road for today. Our thoughts and prays are with his family.
10:30 pm Jan 5th - we are much more organized now and I'm ready for bed. I'm looking forward to some good rest! Goodnight.
