As we rode
through some of the northern backroads of Louisiana we came across this
bridge with a 9 foot clearance; not usually a problem except when you
have an RV following you with a 11 foot roof! They had to backup 5 miles
until they could get a turnaround in the forest and then drive 70 miles
on alternative roads to get back to us. Quite the adventure.
Another part of the adventure today was coming across a construction zone
with gravel and wet cement WHILE the RV was doing the round about route.
We had to walk our bikes for a few miles and then ride on really bad roads
for another 20. Fun fun fun!!

Although hard
to tell from the picture; at the end of the day it really poured. Thankfully
our friends Fredrik Carlberg and Jamie Layfield met us on the road for
the last 25 miles just as the heavy rain started.
The last 25
miles with Jamie and Fred; doing 25-27 miles an hour in the driving rain.
Fun and crazy all wrapped in one great hour to close out a rollercoaster
of a day.
