James Richards (6 yr old)

James passed away just before 20:00 on the 28th of November 2001 at the age of 6 years and 6 days. He was in quite a bit of pain yesterday and we only managed to get it under control two hours before he died. We managed his pain quite well in the last 2 months using morphine patches and although he lost the use of his legs he remained cheerful and enjoyed a good quality of life. We will always remember him for his sunny personality and all the joy he has brought us. Danie Richards

James was very special to us and in his unique way touched so many people. This venture of your friend will be another way for James and others like him to show the world how to love and take care of one another. The Richards family

We were all very moved by James' life and by the dedication and effort of the Richards family through very difficult times. Be it moving overseas so that James could get to know his grandparents, or the many nights the family spent at the hospitals, we know the family did not look for tragedy in these events, but for the joy of experiencing James and what he had to offer. This spoke of courage and of looking for joy in what otherwise appear to be tragic events.

We remain inspired by James and his family and dedicate this message to them.
