Mother of 3 Grandmother of 7 Great-Grandmother of 11 Great-Great Grandmother of 1. Grandma was diagnosed with breast cancer in February of 96. She had a mastectomy and lived cancer-free until September 2001. Unfortunately, she was recently diagnosed with bone cancer and is currently undergoing radiation therapy. She is one of 9 children (5 of whom are still living) and finished the 10th grade. She was a "Rosie the Riveter" during WWII, working for Beechcraft in Wichita, KS. She retired from Alliance Insurance Company in 1980. Although her current battle has forced her into an assisted living community, Rita still actively sews, quilts, crochets and makes the best fried chicken in the world. She also maintains a fantastic attitude and an incredibly quick sense of humor.
