Doris Margaretha Willard (nee Robinson) October 28, 1922

Doris lives in Guelph where she was born and raised and has lived her entire life. In 1940 she married Jim Lowry and they became parents to four children. Doris was widowed in 1970 when her husband was killed in a car accident. In 1973 she remarried, marrying Irving Willard and becoming step-mother to his seven children, two of which were still at home. Doris was widowed for the second time in 1996. She is now the grandmother to 22 grandchildren and great-grandmother to 5. Doris loves to knit and, in spite of her minimal sight, continues to knit beautiful sweaters for her family. In October of 1999 Doris was diagnosed with breast cancer. She underwent a lumpectomy in January, 2000 and then a mastectomy in March of the same year. To date she is doing well with all reports being favourable.
